Man and Woman Placing Post-Its On a Wall

By LaCharla

Does your life feel like a big yawn these days? Have you and your spouse dreamed of doing something big? Something special? Something different? Well, then it’s time for you to get off the sofa and take it t the wall.

Gather Your Dreams

A great way to get out of your rut is to plan an adventure together. And we have a simple way to do it. You’ll need some blank wall space, a few sheets of paper, some sticky notes and a roll of painter’s tape.

You’re about to dream on the wall.

Start with that special thing that makes both your eyes light up, the thing you never get around to doing. Write that dream on your first sheet of paper and tape it to the wall. Then use your remaining sheets of paper and sticky notes to list the questions you’ll have to answer and the things you’ll have to do to make your dream come true.

Give yourselves deadlines so that you answer each question, make every needed decision, and plot each next step without getting stuck. Use the wall like a flow chart, or transfer the details to a new Notebook of Dreams so that you keep up with all the “moving parts.”

If you work on this together bit by bit, your dream will soon become a real action plan.

The How-To

Keep it simple. You can use sticky notes or plain paper taped on the wall with painter’s take to brainstorm your ideas.

Use this little exercise to get your dreams out of your heads and into the open. Post your dreams on the wall and use more sticky notes to plan the steps you’ll have to take to make those dreams happen.

The bonus is that you can make it fun while you learn more about each other’s wants, needs, and priorities. It’s a super simple way to communicate effectively and work toward a shared goal.

If you use a wall in a private part of your house, you can leave the exercise there for days or weeks for inspiration, and to remind you to keep making progress.

Go Forth And Conquer
